Frequently Asked Questions
I take a whole-child approach, not just focusing on the sleep issue you bring, but considering your child’s environment, routines, personality, and your parenting style. I identify strengths so we can build on and start from where your child truly is.
Yes, some children naturally begin sleeping through the night over time. There's no universal timeline, and I support families with children up to age 6. Some children may benefit from gentle guidance to reach that milestone.
“Sleep training” is a broad term that can describe many different approaches to improving your child’s sleep. Your baby’s emotional wellbeing is shaped by many factors over time, which makes the research complex. A 2025 Sleep Health review found that sleep training methods used with care and guidance are safe, effective and support healthy emotional development. It said that secure attachment is largely supported by consistent care giving, rather than avoiding all crying.
We know that good sleep supports children’s and parents’ learning, mood, health, and wellbeing. My approach is always responsive and focused on helping your child feel safe and secure. Parents often share that better sleep brings calmer bedtimes, happier children, and closer family bonds.
It’s never too early or too late to begin sleep support. In the early months, gentle guidance around sleep cues, routines, and settling can lay a strong foundation. As children grow, sleep challenges and transitions evolve, so support might look different at each stage. I work with families of children up to age 6, helping them build confidence and find solutions that fit their child’s needs and parenting style.
No ethical sleep consultant can promise that every child will sleep through the night immediately, babies and young children are human, not robots!
What I can promise is a proven, kind and responsive approach tailored specifically to your child and family. I take the time to understand your child’s sleep needs, your parenting style, and your household routine. Together we create a bespoke plan and work closely for three weeks, making adjustments if something isn’t working.
Unless there’s an underlying medical issue, there’s every reason to reach your goals. In fact, every family I’ve worked with who has committed to the plan with consistency has seen their child’s sleep become longer, more settled, and far less stressful often leading to full nights of uninterrupted sleep.
Absolutely. Cuddling and responsive care during the day helps your child feel safe and confident that you’ll come back when needed. I’ve lived it, I carried my baby in a sling for six months while chasing a toddler!
